Welcome to Binkley Apples Limited located in the heart of the Southern Georgian Bay Apple Growing District at 44° 30° North Latitude. We are the most Northerly apple-producing area in Ontario. The potential of our area for growing apples has been recognized since the early 19th Century. There are approximately 4000 acres of apple orchard in this district which comprises over 30% of the total apple acreage in Ontario.

The deep cool waters of Georgian Bay, the adjacent fertile soils, the protective boundaries formed by the Niagara Escarpment and the Northern Latitude combine to influence the creation of three pockets of microclimate that make our area from Collingwood to Meaford ideal for growing apples.

The annual yield is comprised of many varieties including McIntosh, Red Prince, Honeycrisp, Gala, Ambrosia, Cortland and Crispin / Mutsu . See our varieties page for a complete list.

Binkleys packs apples to meet and exceed Agriculture Canada Fancy and Extra Fancy, US Fancy and Extra Fancy and Ontario Orchard Crisp standards. We guarantee high quality standards through strict inspection procedures at many control points in our computer controlled packing line. Binkley Apples strives to be a year-round supplier of Ontario-Fresh product that is carefully delivered in air-ride, temperature-controlled trailers.

Binkley's is proud of the fact that we have served the Georgian Bay area for 50 years. Our packhouse started as a small operation. Over the years the business has expanded at the Beaver Street/33rd Sideroad location and is one of the seven major packhouses in Ontario. We are honoured to be part of the Georgian Bay community providing service to the local growers, a service to the wholesale and retail buyers and employment to our community. We provide locally grown Georgian Bay apples to our community through retail sales, organizations and donations to charities. Our marketing expertise includes Ontario and Western Canada and exports range from California to Great Britain.

Our packline is efficient and allows us versatility in packing fruit into a variety of packaging. We use a one-pack system; each bin is put into our fluming system, graded and packed into its designated packaging according to its size and colour requirements and inventoried for shipping. This is accomplished in one process which minimizes handling of each apple.

We have an advanced computer-based traceability system which allows us to track apples from the grower's orchard to our customers' shelves. Each bin lot received from our growers is given a unique number associated with the bins received. That lot is traced through our system as the bin enters the waters of our flume. It is then placed into a variety of different packaging types according to customers specifications, palletized and inventoried for shipping. Each case can be traced from our packhouse to the individual customer to whom it was shipped and also back to which farm and block it originated from in the grower's orchard.
