A cross between a Jonathan and a Wagener, the Idared apple is medium to large and round to flat round. It has a bright red skin with a green and yellow background and firm white flesh that's tart and juicy. The Idared apple holds its shape and flavour very well, making it one of the best baking apples. It's excellent in pies, sauces and cakes. Also great fresh!
